sickness and dekaron rusaki
Okay, first off, let me say HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO KATIE! (tomorrow)
And happy Valentines Day to everyone else!
I’m so incredibly sorry that I’ve been neglecting my duties on TMOOS. I’ve also been neglecting my schoolwork recently, as I’ve been sick with something like the flu (which is why we don’t have any videos recently), and then I just got lazy. Happens to the best of us, right?
I don’t really have much to say about my personal life, because nothing has been going on recently, except for money troubles that everyone can identify with. But my boyfriend and I are going to do something together for Valentines Day, hopefully, tomorrow. I’m not quite sure what he has planned, so I hope it’s good lol.
Katie and I went to the YMCA to work out a couple days ago, and my lower back has been so sore. I need to go back to the gym more than just once a week, but recently we’ve had a LOT of snow! Like, a lot a lot! I believe there are still people snowed in. Here’s a snapshot of the weather for the past week. Twas pretty awesome, but not much fun digging the cars out. Well, actually, it was kinda fun.. I have a couple videos up on my youtube from it – http://www.youtube.com/candyzombi. There will be one of Katie there soon lol. The first picture is a gigantic snow drift that was outside of our front door the second night that it snowed. And the second picture is a view from outside the back porch door.

Umm.. OH! I found a game (well, not really. my boyfriend’s friend found a game because of one of HIS friends..) called Dekaron Rusaki that I’ve been playing with that group of friends recently. It’s really quite addictive, but that might just be because I used to play prettymuch the same game a couple years ago and was instantly hooked. It’s a free online mmorpg with six (hopefully seven soon) different characters that you can choose from. They all have different strengths and weaknesses, and you have to stat up to what their skills/weapons are. It’s kindof infuriating for the first couple reborns (you get to lvl 180 and then restart and you’re back at lvl 1, but you get 250 more stat points every time you do that, so you’re stronger each time) but it’s still fun if you have people to play with.
American Idol is at the Hollywood Week stage, and I still haven’t gone back and picked my favorites from the auditions yet. Fringe had the winter finale, and won’t be on again until Chad’s birthday, April 1st. House.. well, I’m not quite sure what’s going on with House, but I still love it lol. There’s a new show on called Past Life or something like that and it seems really interesting, but I’m not sure if I’m going to be too into it yet.
And finally, in light of the two and a half feet of snow that’s outside right now, my stumble of the day is a bunch of cute cuddley animals in the snow!

until next time

Disappointment and Castle Crashers
Ugh. This week just isn’t going like I wanted it to. It’s okay, though. I can’t always get what I want.
Katie was right in saying that I want to lose about 65 lbs by the end of June (I’ll most likely be putting up before and after pics or something if I pull it off) but this week just hasn’t been a good start. Remember Planet Fitness? Well, let’s just say that I didn’t get there. I’ll be posting my own blog to go along with the youtube (I haven’t made it yet, but I’ll link when I do if you guys are interested) so I can keep my progress over there instead of boring everybody else lol.
Anyway! We never took Annie to the vet. Mom pushed back her appointment until Tomorrow. =.= So hopefully we’re going to go to Planet Fitness tomorrow morning, then take Annie to the vet, and then I must work on schoolwork because I’m falling behind once again. I really hope that Annie’s okay. She’s eating like she used to before we took her to the vet the first time, so I think she is, but I’m just worried anyway.
Moving on to what you guys are probably really interested in.
American Idol was on Tuesday and last night. Oh God, Tuesday was amazing for me. I think I found my favorite from the auditions (but I’m not going to say who just yet ;D). I didn’t get to see the majority of Wednesday night’s, though. For some reason the recording didn’t record and.. yeah. And I really wanted to see Fringe tonight to give you guys a review, but my boyfriend is Still playing on his xbox.
Speaking of the 360! He downloaded this incredibly adorable arcade game called Castle Crashers. I didn’t really watch the majority of the game (he just finished the campaign with his friend) but oh God. The stuff that I did see.. So. Freaking. ADORABLE! The graphics are pretty childish, and the story is a little mario-esque where the main character(s for multiplayer) has to rescue a bunch of girls taken from the castle. The journey along the way is pretty incredible. I found myself laughing every time I looked at the tv, as I saw a couple different bosses that include a giant ear of corn, a cat-fish that spits out hairballs(LOL), and some aliens. It’s a little arcade RPG where you get stat points and you can level up your skills, such as magic and defense, and each of the four characters that you can choose from has a different magical ability. Red is lightning, Orange is fire, Green is poison, and Blue is ice. If you own a 360 and have access to gold, I highly suggest downloading the demo and trying it out! Click here for the Castle Crasher’s website. You’ll fall in love, or laugh your butt off, I promise.
And last but not least, the stumble of the day!
I seriously did stumble this today, but I’ve known about this site for years. It’s a place called BME Zine where it’s all about body piercings and other body mods. If you like piercings or tattoos or anything of the sort in the least bit, then you’ll love BME. It’s a community of modified people who have shared their experiences and their personal mods to make the site as extensive as it is. It also has articles, a faq, and a bunch pictures, and a lot of other nifty things! Click here to check it out!
Alright guys.
Until Sunday!
Leah
Sorry guys! Planet Fitness and American Idol
Hey everyone.
I’m so incredibly sorry that I did not post Sunday! It was very busy for Katie and me, considering on Friday and Saturday I wasn’t feeling well at all. Sunday was our Katie and Leah day, and we DID make a video.. it’s just not up yet because of a few unforeseen circumstances. But, as Katie said, it will be up later tonight! Yaayy! We did a very controversial topic in our latest video, so be sure to watch and reply!
I’m not going to have much of a big topic to talk about today other than a few things going on in my personal life.
I’ve recently decided to start losing weight (dun, dun, duuunn!). Now, ladies and gents, this does not mean that I’ve decided to change my “love yourself” ways. I just want to be healthy, and right now, I’m definitely not. Among other things, I want to RUN . And I don’t mean just jogging around the block. I want to be able to run and not get caught if I’m playing tag or keepaway or something. Right now, that is definitely not the case. I get winded just going up steps, and frankly, I’m sick of it. So, in honor of this change that I’ve made, my mom and I are joining a gym called Planet Fitness for ten dollars a month. It seems like a very good gym with a lot of different ways to strengthen and work your heart and whatnot, and the people seem extremely friendly. Did I mention that the majority of it is purple?! (That’s my favorite color!
) I was already thinking about trying this gym out, but the fact that my friend Kasey goes just made the deal. We used to be really close, but I barely ever see her nowadays, and it seems that she’s going to be my workout buddy from now on! So yay for that!
But anyway. I’m going to have my own weight loss youtube to help track my progress and keep me motivated. (I’m all about motivation these days.) The youtube will be http://www.youtube.com/LeahsJourney but there aren’t any videos or anything up there yet. I’ll post on there every Sunday with results and updates and whatnot, so keep a lookout, and wish me luck!
NOW! Onto the big topic of the night! TV! Haha.
So a new House was on last night called Remorse. Holy shit. I think this might be one of my favorites ever. So the team had to take on the case of a sociopathic woman who was having major ear issues, and the boys are all charmed by her, while Thirteen knows there’s something wrong with her. Towards the end of the show, the woman gets creepier and creepier, and you’re left thinking “geze. why the hell..?” but it’s pretty damn interesting if I do say so myself. Also, House catches up with a man from his past and has to deal with his feelings for Cutty once again. It’s definitely worth watching. I adored this one.
Also, American Idol is on tonight! Gaaah! I can’t wait! I’ll update more on American Idol on Thursday when I get to see both shows this week.
And finally, everyone, is the Stumble of the Day. This website is freakin hilarious. It’s a bit vulgar, but seriously, read it. It’s very funny, and very good advice! It’s called “40 Mistakes Men Make While Having Sex With Women”. Click here!
Well, that’s all folks. Come back tomorrow for Katie’s blog!
And don’t forget to check the youtube for our vlog that we did on Sunday!

American Idol, Fringe, and some updates
Hey guys. How’s it goin?
I’m not feeling so well right now, so I’m going to try to make this short.
Remember Annie? Well, we’re taking her to the vet on Monday to get a blood test and to make sure that she’s going to be okay for now. We only have enough fluids/needles for until Saturday, so we’re going to do it every other day instead of every day like we’ve been. But she seems really good, so I’m expecting some good news. Wish us luck, guys!
Katie and I are working on making our videos a LOT better (instead of just posting a single take with mistakes and silences and whatnot) so keep watch to see what all we do. We’re also going to put in certain segments that I can’t exactly reveal yet, but I promise we’ll be a hell of a lot more organized lol. We may need your help, though. Do you know any good video editing software? Be ready for the video on Saturday!
The stumble of the day for me would have to be this amazingly adorable youtube video. Everyone loves funny, cats, right? Well. If you don’t, you will.
There’s something that you all should know about me. I’m a big tv freak. I love watching tv when it comes to certain shows (including Supernatural, House, Fringe, American Idol, Charmed, Roseanne, and George Lopez) but I’ll only be reviewing House, Fringe, and American Idol, because as far as I know, they’re the only ones that are still coming out with new shows.
American Idol started last week! Oh God, I already missed a show, but the three that I’ve seen have had some really incredible vocalists. I’ll be posting my favorites from auditions when Hollywood week starts, so watch out. Oi, Paula Abdul is gone, and she’s been replaced by Ellen DeGeneres! I think it’s been a long time coming. Paula’s peak came and went, and I’m glad that Ellen is filling in. She may not be a music expert, but she has no vote when it comes to who gets in and who doesn’t. They’re having guest judges and whatnot for the auditions (including Shania Twain, Katy Perry, and that one woman that’s on Broadway that was on Glee but I forget her name.) I may not be a reality tv fan, but I’m a huge idol fan. I know a lot of you are like “ugh, why do you even watch that shit? It’s reality tv, for christ’s sake!” but there are a lot of beautiful singers on that show, and I love music. So get used to hearing about Idol on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Lol. (American Idol airs on Fox every Tuesday and Wednesday at 8pm est. Watch it!)
Two more shows that I’m in love with are House and Fringe, so on Tuesdays, you’ll be hearing about House, and on Thursdays you’ll be hearing about Fringe. Fringe is a sci-fi drama that’s in its second season and the season is almost over. Today’s episode was epic, though. There was drama and death, as there usually is in Fringe. The episode is about this extremely freaky virus that apparently wiped out the earth so many years ago, and there’s fear that Peter and Oliva may have contracted the virus. The way the episode ends is pretty clever, and I suggest you all start watching Fringe if you haven’t already. It airs on Fox on Thursdays 9pm est.
What shows do you guys like to watch? Or do you prefer doing something other than being a couch potato? C’mon guys, don’t be shy!
That’s all for tonight.

Quick update from Leah
Heyy guys.
Real quick one today cause I completely forgot that I needed to write a blog and I’m currently playing rummy with my amazing boyfriend and my awesome mom. I love them. (:
The stumble of the day would be a quick random stumble. This site has a bunch of really neat styles of floors including puzzle pieces, an optical illusion, and even a floor made of salami! Click here to see these amazing floors!
Umm. Uploaded two new videos today. One’s a video of Katie’s room that was promised from the PDA video and the other is a shoutout to my friend Mama.
For our other videos, as always, go to http://www.youtube.com/themoralofourstory
Until Tuesday, guys!

Haiti earthquake and music
First of all, lol at Katie’s post.
I think I’m going to start all of my blogs off with a little update on what’s going on in my world and slowly branch off from there. And with that, ANNIE’S HOME! Yaayyy! We have to give her daily fluid via IV for the next ten days, along with oral vitamins and antibiotics, but she’s home and doing much better! She actually wants attention now and is back to her old semi-energetic self.
On to the news!
So as the majority of you probably know, there was a 7.0 earthquake in Haiti on the 12th. I’ve seen pictures and videos of this incredible disaster and they’re so shocking and horrifying and.. real. Usually you see these kinds of things in movies and whatnot and go “Oh shit! Look at those special effects! That’s so cool!” but this has nothing to do with special effects. This is real pain, real death, real disaster. It is said that 3 million people were affected by this earthquake. That’s one third of the entire population of Haiti! To help out, donate to the American Red Cross asap! Donors can text “Haiti” to 90999 on their cell phone to send a $10 donation to support Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti. For more on the American Red Cross’s donations to help Haiti, click here.
Now, for the topic that inspired this blog today :: Music. I have a feeling that at least once a week I’m going to end up featuring an artist that I find on purevolume or youtube that I think is incredible, so keep a watch out! Oh! And what do you guys want me to check out? C’mon. I’m open to anything and everything when it comes to music!
Here’s my feature for today.
I got on my school e-mail today and saw an e-mail saying that there was a girl in my school who had become a finalist for some Miley Cyrus contest. I don’t really like Miley, but I thought “hey. maybe this girl could be a good singer. let’s check it out.” And boy am I glad I did. This girl is quite amazing. Her name is Amy Colalella and from judging her talent and originally, she definitely deserves to win a record deal. From watching her vids (click here for her youtube channel), it seems that she’s a primarily acoustic artist. She has more talent than the other finalist, imo, and her song is an ORIGINAL. Click here to vote for her. If you won’t take my word for it, then here’s her entry for the final contest ::
I was going to write a whole rant on the influence of music over the generations and whatnot, but it completely went out the window. I’ll edit this later if I can remember wtf I was going to say lmao.
And finally. Onto the stumble of the day!
Okay, well, I didn’t really stumble this specific site, but I stumbled a news story ABOUT this site, and I just had to look it up and share it with you all! Apparently this blog is about a woman who blogs her husband’s sleep talking episodes. They’re quite hilarious, with phrases including “You’re pretty. pretty pretty pretty pretty pretty…. [long pause] Now fuck off and be pretty somewhere else. I’m bored.”, “Vampire penguins? Zombie guinea pigs? We’re done for…. done for.”, and “Dance for me, go on. Oh you were! I thought you were having a spaz attack….. Doofus.” <– This specific one reminds me of Katie. Lmfao. But ANYWAY. Here's the website. It's quite hilarious. A lot of them made me laugh out loud. Click here!
And with that, I’m done for today.
Until Sunday!

Animals and artwork.
Rawr!
Hey guys! It’s time for another update!
Oh God. Yesterday was hectic.
Anyone who knows me knows that I love animals. I actually value animals above people, sometimes. If I could, I would have a whole zoo here in my bedroom. But, alas, it is tiny and my parents won’t allow any more than the five cats and one dog that we have here already.
But anyway, as Katie said in her last post, my mother and I had to take my cat, Annie, in to the vets yesterday morning. Now, this cat is at the very least 16 years old (mom says she’s 17..) and when we took her in we weren’t expecting much. She hadn’t been eating and barely drinking, and she was hiding behind a cabinet on the porch. Anybody who’s had an animal knows that they hide when they’re getting ready to.. well, you know.. so, as I said, we weren’t expecting the best news when we took her in yesterday. We were surprised when we found out that instead of having advanced liver/kidney disease as we thought, she had some sort of infection (which turned out to be a bladder infection) and she was extremely dehydrated. They kept her overnight to give her fluids and antibiotics, and this morning the vet said that she had perked up a little bit. edit::She definitely has perked up a LOT. She was wanting lots of attention, and she even ate while we were there. It was really exciting. I’m pretty sure we’re going to be able to bring her home tomorrow. ^^/edit
Now, on to the other thing that happened yesterday involving the cats. Three of our five cats live out on the porch, and the dog LOVES to chase them. Right after Katie and I made the “Katie’s boy crisis!” video, the dog freaked out and I guess ran out on the porch, which scared the cat so bad that she jumped up on the table that’s out there and went right through the window. Yes. The cat literally went THROUGH the window. There was glass everywhere. We didn’t notice that the window was broken until we couldn’t find Yin-Yang (that’s her name). Katie found her outside on our outside porch (inside a fence, thank God). I ran out and got her when I saw her in the snow. She was so incredibly scared, and I don’t blame her. We found little shards of glass on her head, and we’re thinking that she went through the window head first. She’s okay, though. She didn’t have a scratch on her. But it was definitely the strangest thing that’s happened around here in a long time. Plus now we have to get the window replaced.
Have any of you had an experience like this? Any scary/funny/strange animal stories that you’d like to share? Don’t hesitate to comment and tell us!
Now. Moving on. Instead of giving a review today, I decided to start up a new segment in The Moral of Our Story called The Stumble Of The Day! (taaadaaa!)
The Stumble Of The Day today for me would have to be http://www.suckatlife.com. Suckatlife.com a website by an artists named Lawrence Yang where he posts his artwork, a journal, and even a store. His paintings, traditional drawings, and digital drawings are so incredibly adorable! You should definitely check it out! Here are some of his paintings (click to go to the website)::
Alright everyone. Thanks for reading. Don’t forget to comment/subscribe!
Until Thursday!

Leah’s first post
Hey guyyys.
This is my first (solo) post on The Moral of Our Story, and I thought I’d start it off with a little bit more about me.
My name is Leah, but a few of my online aliases are candyzombi, z, and ginger — which leads me to something that I want to point out. I’m PROUD that I’m a ginger. I’m also proud of my body, even though I’m not a skinny-ass girl with huge boobs. I’m an advocate for girls that are proud of their size and that aren’t afraid to be what they are just because the media says something different.
Oh, and those of you who say “Oh my GOD you’re so FAT! You’re such a cow! What a whale! What a waste of space!” I’d gladly like to say shove it up your ass and rotate. If a girl is FAT, usually, we KNOW we’re fat. You don’t need to be screaming it out to the world. It just makes you seem like an asshole with nothing else to do but put someone down. Also, to the girls who aren’t proud of the way they are, stop comparing yourself to other girls and start picking out what you like about yourself. Take it from me. Life is a LOT easier once you stop putting yourself down and start loving yourself.
Anyway. I believe that The Moral of Our Story is going to be an outlet for anything and everything that Katie and I can think of, including.. you know.. morals to our actual story. This will include recaps of our lives thus far, as well as what we think on situations that we are not in. We’d really like to hear about what’s going on with our viewers/readers, too, even if there may not be very many, especially if you can relate and give insight also. Who knows? You may be featured in a video or a blog! Also, if you have any requests that you’d like us to talk about, review, or rant about, they’d be much appreciated.
So I’d like to hear your thoughts on the whole “fat vs skinny vs love yourself” debate. Please, leave a comment. Katie or I will be glad to answer all your questions, comments, or insults. (: I’ll update with a bit more about me, a review, and another rant on Tuesday.
Until then!
Leah
